My Story...

The oldest of five kids, I grew up a pastor’s daughter at a large church in the Seattle area. From a young girl, I was taught how to perfect the role I was asked to play. At the age of 18, I was married. By the age of 22, I had three small children, a husband in law school, and dreams of a life with a white picket fence around it.

Five years later, with a bruised marriage and broken hearts, our young family moved to Redding, California. Soon after, I lost my best friend; my mom. For the first time in my life, I lived somewhere where no one knew my name. Now, no one knew my pain.

The things I'd been chasing couldn't hold my attention. Church couldn’t fix me. People didn’t comfort me. Dreams didn’t distract me. I was sick of trying to stand behind the facade of a perfect life. I had a ravaging hunger to know whom the God I had cried out to as a child was. I finally NEEDED my Savior.

God was shaping me; His Spirit healing me. He poured new passions into my heart. Still, great trials continued and I often found myself wondering if pain was going to be the defining force of my life.

He is continuing the work He started in me. Sometimes it gets messy, but He's not done with me. I know His strength is made perfect in my weakness. I hope in that promise!

Pete and I just celebrated 16 years of marriage and I am now the mother of two high schoolers and one junior higher. I am a photographer, songwriter, and worship leader. My passion in life is to be real and live out the love of my Savior.

I have a desperate burden to see our children live lives in love with Jesus. Even more, I desire for them to be radical disciples for His name! The only way I can teach them this, is to live it out myself. There is so much I don’t know, but I'm trying to figure this all out one day at a time... join me on the journey of life with three teenagers!
